Dendera Temple Complex

**Temple of Hathor**
**Location**: Dendera, approximately 60 km north of Luxor.
**Dedication**: Dedicated to Hathor, the goddess of love, beauty, music, and joy.
**History
The main temple was constructed during the late Ptolemaic Period, with additions made during the Roman Period.
**Architecture.
** Temple Facade.
The temple’s facade features six massive columns topped with the face of Hathor.
**Hypostyle Hall.
This hall contains 18 columns with Hathor-headed capitals and intricate carvings.
**Sanctuary.
The inner sanctuary was the holiest part of the temple, where the statue of Hathor was housed.
**Roof Chapels.
Accessible by a staircase, these chapels were used for various rituals and include a replica of the famous Dendera Zodiac.
**Birth House (Mammisi).

A smaller temple within the complex, celebrating the divine birth of the god Horus.

Detailed astronomical carvings, including the Dendera Zodiac.
**Crypts.
Underground crypts used to store temple treasures and sacred objects.

**Temple of Seti I Osiris Temple..
**Location**: Abydos, approximately 160 km north of Luxor.
**Dedication**: Primarily dedicated to Osiris, the god of the afterlife, as well as other deities such as Isis, Horus, Ptah, Re-Horakhty, Amun, and Seti I.
**History**: Built during the reign of Pharaoh Seti I in the 13th century BCE and completed by his son, Ramses II.
**Architecture.
**L-shaped Layout**: The unique L-shaped plan includes seven chapels dedicated to various gods and the deified Seti I.
**Hypostyle Halls**: The temple features two hypostyle halls with columns adorned with intricate reliefs.
**Sanctuary**: The inner sanctuaries contain beautifully carved and painted reliefs depicting religious ceremonies.
**Osireion**: A symbolic tomb of Osiris located behind the temple, featuring a subterranean structure believed to be a cenotaph.
